Your connection to Your Government
This is a System?
Have you ever found yourself slogging along through a morass of federal red tape and bureaucracy, and asked:
"Is this a system?"
Well, believe it or not, the U S Government is a system... No, really, it's a system.
The Federal Government is a finite system, with a set structure. While digging through the seemingly endless government web sites and on line documents, we found that there is a logical way to describe and research the government itself. The myriad departments, agencies, and officers of this government do follow a pattern.
You probably know the top end from Civics Class, the three branches of government, and even Sesame Street has famously taught how a bill becomes law.
So what government agency deals with a particular issue? And, who directs that agency? How do we find out what specific bill is now pending that addresses an issue we are interested in? Where can we find that particular government form on the net?
We attempt to give you the tools here to answer these kinds of questions, and to let you access all the government information available on line.
So...How does this site work?
This site is roughly structured like the government itself. There are many reference pages that contain materials we have researched from various sites around the web. These pages contain links to the pages where we found that information.
There is also an extensive directory of government sites and sites about the government. These links to external sites will open in a new window so you will not lose your place here should you need to return.
The site has many news feeds from other sites, with headlines linked to news articles on most pages. In addition to these side bar news feeds, there are a large number of pages that are solely devoted to news of particular issues or government entities.
The entire site is highly indexed and our search engine produces extensive results. The news headlines are not indexed by the search engine as they are constantly updating. You can find news for a particular subject through the search engine as it will pick up the static content of those pages, which will include most keywords you would search for.
If you can not find the government resource you are looking for through our pages, then use our search pages to search the web for the information.
From time to time we will produce articles concerning government subject matter that is of particular interest to us, so visit often, have fun here, and good luck.
